WHAT is Happening??
-
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been buying up warehouses across the country to convert into mass detention facilities for ICE.
-
ICE is already holding more than 70,000 people in detention—double what it was just a year ago—and the administration's goal is to reach 100,000, using mega-facilities that can cage up to 10,000 people each, often with no adequate sanitation, health care, or access to lawyers
-
These aren't just numbers. This is a mass detention system being built in our backyards, in former distribution centers built for packages—not people—and it's happening right now, in communities just like ours.

WHAT can we do??
-
It’s time for a new campaign to oppose the regime’s plans to convert warehouses into mass detention camps.
-
It’s time we send an unmistakable message from every corner of this country: We will not accept ICE warehouses in our communities.
-
Fight Back! – so far, Twelve (12!) rumored warehouse sales did not move forward because Indivisible and other activist groups showed up. We need to get vocal and visible!
ACTION: Join us in protesting the purchase and funding of these unethical detention facilities and opposing Trump’s Mass Detention Agenda

PARKING: Parking is available at the Unitarian Universalist Area Church, the Pilgrim Church and Town Hall
ALL Ages are welcome. We encourage you to bring signs and your energy!
All Indivisible Sherborn events are a commitment to non-violent action

Our military is fighting a war Americans don't want, secret police are kidnapping and killing our neighbors, and the regime is working overtime to suppress the vote in the midterms. Silence isn't an option.
Democracy Matters
Indivisible Sherborn formed in December 2025, spearheaded by a few active citizens dedicated to the core ideals of the Declaration Of Independence, an America centered on the 1776 promise of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" for all. The group is dedicated to raising awareness about the increasing threats to our precious democracy, protecting the rights embedded in the Constitution, and doing what we can to make our world a better place.

In addition to recently organizing the local No Kings protests, the group looks ahead to make a difference through additional peaceful engagement, actions that include postcard mailings, arranging for topically appropriate speakers, organizing democracy awareness efforts, connecting with neighboring Indivisible groups, and more. In general, we seek to find common ground with others who are concerned about the unraveling of what we hold most dear, and alarmed at the growth of anti-democratic conduct both in everyday life and in official quarters across the land.

If you live in the Sherborn area and would like to learn more about participating in a small way, please reach out at IndivisibleSherborn@gmail.com.
Why are protests important? Two internationally acclaimed historians remind us how they're a key element of a healthy democracy.
(1) Timothy Snyder, point #13 from his "On Tyranny": "Practice corporeal politics. Power wants your body softening in your chair and your emotions dissipating on the screen. Get outside. Put your body in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar people. Make new friends and march with them."
(2) Heather Cox Richardson's pointed remarks are from June 2025, check her 7-minute clip.
